Wedding Bells

Rob's best friend from his Navy Days got married this weekend.  Troy was stationed in Japan with Rob and they became very close during their sea tour there.  He lives here in Virginia now and, though we don't see him as often as we'd like, they have remained close so it was wonderful to be able to share this special day with him.
It was also nice to get dressed up and take a little road trip just the two of us (Grandma stayed with the kids all day--thanks!)  The wedding was at the Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, which is about an hour and a half away from our home.  It was the first time either of us had visited the Academy, so that was kind of a neat experience too.  It was a surprisingly emotional day; the combined wave of military memories and wedding emotions and seeing old friends stirred up a lot of emotions.  Overall, it was really lovely.
The ceremony was beautiful and spiritual; a privileged to attend
The reception was in a lovely hall at the Navy Stadium with lots of wonderful food and drink and music and dancing.  We were seated at a table with several other former naval officers, a few of whom Rob had served with but hadn't seen for years.
It was a wonderful evening full of celebration and reminiscence.

Congratulations, Troy and Beth!

  1. That is a fantastic picture of the two of you! You look great! It should be framed or used for a profile picture at least :)
